Resolution No. 5906, Adopting the Annual Budget in the Amount of $1,628,875,875; Setting
Forth the Receipts and Expenditures; and the Amounts Proposed to be Raised by Direct
Property Taxation for the Various Purposes for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-26, and Adopting the 2026-
2035 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) in the Amount of $2,617,730,721
Move City Council pass and adopt Resolution No. 5906, adopting the Annual Budget in the
amount of $1,628,875,875; setting forth the receipts and expenditures; and the amounts
proposed to be raised by direct property taxation for the various purposes for FY 2025-26, and
adopting the 2026-2035 CIP in the amount of $2,617,730,721, as presented or amended after
the close of the public hearing.

Action Agenda Motion and Vote
Councilmember Harris moved to pass and adopt Resolution No. 5906, adopting the Annual
Budget in the amount of $1,628,875,875; setting forth the receipts and expenditures; and the
amounts proposed to be raised by direct property taxation for the various purposes for FY 2025-
26, and adopting the 2026-2035 CIP in the amount of $2,617,730,721, as presented or amended
after the close of the public hearing.; Seconded by Councilmember Poston.
Motion carried unanimously (7-0).

Mayor's Announcements
MAYOR HARTKE announced three park ribbon cuttings were scheduled for June 14: Orangetree
Park at 2134 N. Bullmoose Dr. at 8:00 a.m., Brooks Crossing Park at 1345 W. Calle del Norte at 8:45
a.m., and Gazelle Meadows Park at 500 N. Exeter St. at 9:30 a.m.
MAYOR HARTKE announced the Maricopa Reads Summer Reading Challenge which runs June 1
through August 1. Readers can earn prizes through Chandler Public Library after logging minutes
spent reading.
MAYOR HARTKE mentioned the overnight heat relief program begins June 13, where AZCEND will
operate out of the Chandler Senior Center through September. More information can be found at
chandleraz.gov/heatrelief.
MAYOR HARTKE noted that the I-10 Broadway Curve widening project on the freeway has
concluded, a significant milestone for the region. Improvements have expanded capacity,
improved safety, and reduced congestion along the freeway.
Council's Announcements
COUNCILMEMBER ENCINAS wished residents a happy Pride Month and shared the opportunity
he had to attend WorldPride 2025 in Washington, D.C., and meet representatives from the Victory
Institute and the Ambassador of Ireland. He continued with the announcement of the Annual
Pride Flag Raising in Dr. A.J. Chandler Park on Friday, June 13, beginning at 6:00 p.m. with a
reception to follow.
COUNCILMEMBER POSTON shared she had the opportunity to attend the Chandler Chamber
Community Awards on May 29, where the Chamber recognizes teachers, volunteers, community
members, and business owners. At the ceremony, Police Officer Jose Coronado was recognized
for excellence in Public Safety, and the City Award was presented to Macerich, the owner of the
Chandler Fashion Center.
COUNCILMEMBER ORLANDO wished everyone a happy Father’s Day.

COUNCILMEMBER HARRIS announced the Miss Juneteenth Arizona Scholarship Pageant on Friday,
June 13, beginning at 7:00 p.m. at the Chandler Center for the Arts. This pageant celebrates
Juneteenth and focuses on empowering young women by promoting education, community
service, and cultural awareness, hosted by the South Chandler Self-Help Foundation.
COUNCILMEMBER HARRIS announced the Culture Music in the Park event on Saturday, June 14,
beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park.
COUNCILMEMBER HARRIS mentioned the Juneteenth Father’s Day Mixer on Sunday, June 15,
beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Singing Pandas, hosted by Chandler Men of Action, and wished everyone
a happy Father’s Day.
COUNCILMEMBER HAWKINS announced that For Our Parks Day will take place on Saturday, June
21, beginning at 6:00 a.m. at Snedigar Sportsplex. In celebration of Parks and Recreation Month,
Chandler Parks is inviting the community to participate in the event. Volunteers will have the
opportunity to help restore two athletic fields at Snedigar Sportsplex in preparation for the
upcoming sports season.
City Manager's Announcements
JOSHUA WRIGHT, City Manager, thanked Mayor and Council for their adoption of the yearly
budget, and thanked city staff for their efforts in putting together a well-prepared budget.
