2. AGREEMENT WITH PLAINS LPG SERVICES FOR PIPELINE INSTALLATION UNDER SPECIAL USE PERMIT Approve the agreement between Maricopa County and Plains LPG Services for pipeline installation under special use permit to install two, six inch steel gas lines along Dysart Road and Glendale Avenue. These new lines will run parallel to their existing lines that have been in for approximately 30 years. The new lines will continue to transport Propane and Butane from their storage facility at the northeast corner of Dysart Road and Glendale Avenue. The purpose of the two new lines is to increase capacity and add new improved safety standards. The new facility is scheduled to be installed in the first quarter of calendar year 2011. This facility is an integral part of an overall system that provides Propane and Butane throughout Arizona. There was a license signed for this facility when it was originally installed in the 1970’s, however neither LPG Service nor Maricopa County can locate these documents. This document that is being requested to sign will re-establish a current license for this facility and allow for the new installation to be permitted. There will be no funding impact to Maricopa County. LPG Services is one of the largest suppliers of Propane and Butane in the United States. They have been in business in Arizona for over 30 years. Since they will be installing their new pipeline parallel to their existing line located at the far edge of the road rights-of-way, there will be minimal impact on the driving public during construction Once the facility is installed there will be no impact. LPG Services anticipates that this facility will be adequate to provides service to Arizona for a minimum of another 30 years. Supervisory District No. 4 (C-91-10-106-M-00)
