F-2. AMENDMENT TO IGA WITH THE U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY FOR WATER RESOURCES INVESTIGATIONS Approve Amendment No. 1 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) FCD 2011A014, between the United States Geological Survey [Agreement #12WSAZ02100 (USGS)] and the Flood Control District of Maricopa County (District), for the period of October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012, to continue collecting data on local watersheds. Per a request by the USGS, the total cost of the IGA is increased by $5,856.00 from $340,360 to $346,216. The District costs under this Agreement will remain unchanged at $192,680 with the USGS contributing the remaining $153,536. Payments from the District are to be made quarterly. This IGA amendment is being made at the request of the USGS in order to increase the USGS dollar commitment to the IGA. This Agreement will develop and evaluate long term flood histories on watercourses in Maricopa County, and provide information critical to the determination of the risk of flooding in these watercourses. The information generated by the USGS’s ongoing work is vital to the safety of Maricopa County residents, and to the continuing hydrologic studies performed by the District.
