The Master Services base Agreement was approved by the Board of Supervisors on March 25, 2015 and established the relationship permitting the Sheriff’s Office to work with the Center for Violence Prevention and Community Safety at Arizona State University for the development of a traffic stop data information management program. 10. GRANT FUNDS FROM ARIZONA GAME AND FISH COMMISSION FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT BOATING SAFETY FUND FY17 Approve the acceptance of up to $405,000 in continued funding from the Arizona Game and Fish Commission for Law Enforcement Boating Safety. The term of this funding is estimated to be July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. This funding will be used to pay for personnel costs, purchase equipment, maintenance/repair and/or replacement of watercraft patrol boat(s) to continue effectively patrolling the waterways in Maricopa County. Grant revenues are not local revenues for the purpose of the constitutional expenditure limitation, and therefore, expenditures of these revenues are not prohibited by the budget law. The Sheriff’s indirect cost rate for FY17 is 19.8% ($80,190). These funds are the result of A.R.S. §5-383 and indirect cost recovery is not allowed. There will be capital equipment purchases valued at $200,000 that are excluded from the indirect cost calculation. Thus the unrecoverable indirect cost impact of this funding is ($40,590). Acceptance of these funds will enable the Sheriff’s Office to purchase equipment and /or other items relating to patrolling the waterways in Maricopa County. (C-50-17-001-G-00)
